    5、ar to UNS A92024)RATIONALE AMS 4152M has been revised to eliminate the non-mandatory hardness requirement, moving it to the notes section consistent with similar AMS, is a Five Year Review and update of this specification 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of e

    6、xtruded bars, rods, wire, shapes, and tubing. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring good strength and whose fabrication does not involve welding, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain processing procedures may cause these products to becom

    7、e susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a

    8、subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified.     19、bles 2 and 3 shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. 3.4 Quality Extrusions, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the extrusions. 3.4.1 When specified, extrusions shall be s

    20、ubjected to ultrasonic inspection in accordance with ASTM B 594. Extrusions 0.50 inch (12.7 mm) and over in nominal thickness, having a maximum thickness to width ratio of 10:1, and weighing not over 600 pounds (272 kg) per piece, shall meet Class B. 3.4.1.1 Acceptance criteria for extrusions exceed

    21、ing the limitations of 3.4.1 shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. 3.5 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H 35.2. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of extrusions shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be

    22、 responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the extrusions conform to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile prope

    23、rties (3.3.1), ultrasonic inspection (3.4.1) when specified, and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS 2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of extrusions shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the ex

    24、trusions conform to the composition and showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 4152M, size or section identification number, and quantity. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall

    25、 be in accordance with AMS 2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. SAE AMS 4152M - 5 - 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Extrusions shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations perta

    26、ining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the extrusions to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Extrusions not con

    27、forming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. NOTES 8.1 The change bar (l) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous i

    28、ssue of this specification. An (R) symbol to the left of the document title indicates a complete revision of the specification, including technical revisions. Change bars and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in specifications that contain editorial changes only. 8.2 Hardness should be

    29、not lower than 100 HB/10/500 or 106 HB/10/1000, determined in accordance with ASTM E 10. Hardness has been used to verify that the product is properly processed, but an out-of-range hardness number is not always indicative of product with out-of-specification tensile properties. Further analysis, in

    30、cluding material composition verification, heat treat process parameter review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-range hardness, may be necessary. 8.3 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917. 8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units and the Fahrenheit temperatur

    31、es are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the Celsius temperatures are shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information. 8.5 Purchase documents should specify not less than the following: AMS 4152M Form and size or section identificatio

    32、n number of extrusions desired Quantity of extrusions desired Ultrasonic inspection report if specified. 8.6 Similar Specifications AMS QQA200/3, Temper T3, is listed for information only and shall not be construed as an acceptable alternate unless all requirements of this AMS are met.
