SCOPE1.1 FormThis speci

    6、fication covers an aluminum alloy in the form of bars, rods, and wire.1.2 ApplicationThese products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength where limited formability is acceptable but usage is not limited to such applications.1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may caus

    7、e these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.2.     18、esShall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the

    19、right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsAll tests are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each lot.4.3 Sampling and TestingSh

    20、all be in accordance with AMS 2355.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test r

    21、equirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 4121H, form and size or part number, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS 2355.5. PRE

    22、PARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 Protective TreatmentWhen specified, the product shall be oiled, prior to shipment, with a light corrosion-inhibiting oil.5.2.2 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercia

ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSProduct not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by

    25、purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8. NOTES8.1 A change bar (|) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous issue of a specification. An (R) symbol to the left of the document ti

    26、tle indicates a complete revision of the specification, including technical revision. Change bars and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in specifications that contain editorial changes only.8.2 Hardness should not be lower than 125 HBS/10/500 or 130 HBS/10/1000, determined in accordance

    27、 with ASTM E 10. Hardness has been used to verify that product is properly processed, but an “out-of-specification hardness number” is not always indicative of product with “out-of-specification tensile strength”. Further analysis including material composition verification, heat treat process param

    28、eter review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-specification hardness may be necessary.8.3 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917.8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units and the Fahrenheit temperatures are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the

    29、Celsius temperatures are shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information.8.5 Purchase documents should specify not less than the following: AMS 4121HForm and size of product requiredQuantity of product required.8.6 Similar SpecificationsAMS QQ-A-225/4
