15、.2.2 Volatile: Shall be water.3.1.2 Shelf Life: The PTFE filler component shall show no evidence of gelation after storage for notless than 60 days at 25 C 1 (77 F 2) in a full, closed container and, at the end of thisperiod, shall produce a uniform dispersion free from curds when mixed with the phe
16、nolic resincomponent in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.3.1.3 Pot Life: After mixing in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, the mixed product,in 100-gram batches, shall have a useful pot life of not less than 22 hours when maintained at15 to 27 C (59 to 81 F).3.2 Properties:
17、The product shall conform to the following requirements:3.2.13.2.23.2.33.2.43.2.5Curing: When mixed and applied in accordance with manufacturers recommendations andcured at 150 C 5 (302 F 9) for 1 hour 0.1, the phenolic resin shall polymerize to producea coating with a uniform dispersion of polytetr
18、afluoroethylene resin solids.Corrosion Resistance: A low-carbon steel panel with a cured coating 0.0002 to 0.0007 inch(5 to 18 m) thick shall show no evidence of deterioration of the coating or corrosion of thebasis metal after exposure for not less than 100 hours to salt spray test conducted inacco
19、rdance with ASTM B 117.Heat Resistance: The coating shall show no evidence of chalking, blistering, or loss ofadhesion after exposure for not less than 100 hours at 175 C 2 (347 F 4).Adhesion: An anodized aluminum alloy test panel with a cured coating 0.0002 to 0.0007 inch(5 to 18 m) thick shall hav
20、e one half of its surface immersed in distilled water at roomtemperature for 24 hours 0.2. The panel shall be removed and wiped dry with a soft cloth.Immediately thereafter, two parallel scratches 1 inch (25 mm) apart shall be made by a sharpstylus on the coated surface subjected to immersion. Withi
21、n 1 minute after the panel has beenremoved from the water, a piece of pressure-sensitive, paper masking tape shall be placedacross the two scratches and sufficient pressure applied to ensure adhesion. Removal of thetape, using an abrupt motion, shall cause no separation of the coating from the basis
22、 metal.Coefficient of Friction: The cured coating shall have a coefficient of friction not greater than 0.1,determined at a speed of 25 feet per minute (127 mm/s) and 10 pounds force (44.5 N) on aTimken Tester, or equivalent, at 20 to 30 C (68 to 86 F).3.3 Quality:After mixing in accordance with man

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection:(R)The manufacturer of the coating material shall supply all samples and shall be responsible for allrequired tests. Purchas
25、er reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testingdeemed necessary to ensure that the coating material conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests:4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Composition (3.1 .1), pot life (3.1.3), curing (3.2.1), and adhesion (3.2.4) areacceptanc
26、e tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: All technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performedprior to or on the initial shipment of coating material to a purchaser, when a change iningredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and wh
27、en purchaser deemsconfirmatory testing to be required.4.2.2.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when requested,preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by theprocuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procuremen

31、 Preproduction Tests: Shall be acceptable to purchaser.4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Coating material shall be approved by purchaser before coating material for production use issupplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production coatingmaterial shall be essentially equivalent
32、 to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Manufacturer shall use ingredients and manufacturing processes on production coating materialwhich are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample. If necessary to makeany change in ingredients or processing, manufacturer shall submit for reapprov
33、al a statementof the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, samplecoating material. Production coating material made by the revised procedure shall not beshipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Reports:The supplier of coating material shall furnish with each shipme
34、nt a report from the manufacturershowing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements andstating that the coating material conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shallinclude the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 3136E manufacturers identi
35、fication, andquantity.4.5.1 A material safety data sheet conforming to AMS 2825, or equivalent, shall be supplied to eachpurchaser prior to, or concurrent with, the report of preproduction test results or, ifpreproduction testing be waived by purchaser, concurrent with the first shipment of coatingm
36、aterial for production use. Each request for modification of coating material formulation shallbe accompanied by a revised data sheet for the proposed formulation.4.6 Resampling and Retesting:(R)If any sample used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of thecoating
37、 material may be based on the results of testing three additional samples for each originalnonconforming sample. Failure of any retest sample to meet the specified requirements shall because for rejection of the coating material represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR
38、DELIVERY:5.1 Packaging and Identification:5.1.1 The coating material shall be supplied in kit form with the resin and filler components inseparate containers having sealed openings. The containers for each kit shall provide eachcomponent in the quantity required for mixing in accordance with manufac

40、manufacturers identification, formula number, lot number, date of manufacture, quantity,directions for mixing, and precautions for storage.5.1.3 Containers of coating material shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial(R) practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulat
41、ions pertaining to the handling,packaging, and transportation of the coating material to ensure carrier acceptance and safedelivery.5.1.4 For direct U.S. Military procurement, packaging shall be in accordance with PPP-P-1892,Level C, unless Level A is specified in the request for procurement.6. ACKN
42、OWLEDGMENT:A supplier shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and whenacknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONS:Coating material not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser,will be subject to rejection.8. NOTES:8.1 The
