TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Composition:Shall be optional with the manufacturer but, when prepared in accordancewith manufacturers instructions, shall form a liquid product, with no solidsediment at room temperature, meeting the requirements of 3.2. 19、ce on themeans for disposal.3.2.4 Storage Stability: Acid, stored at 25C + 5 (77F + 9) for one year shallshow no visual evidence of deterioration and shall meet all othertechnical requirements.3.2.5 Performance: Acid, prepared and used in accordance with manufacturersinstructions shall, at room temp
20、erature, remove rust from ferrous partsand remove heat scale from nickel alloys. Acid, which meets all othertechnical requirements, shall be tested for cleaning performance in anapproved engine overhaul facility for not less than six months, duringwhich time at least ten turbofan or turbojet engines
21、, or equivalent, shallbe processed with satisfactory results before approval for service use isgranted by the applicable engine manufacturer.3.3 Quality:Acid, as received by purchaser, if a liquid, shall be clear, homogeneous,and free from solid particles and separation and from foreign materialsdet
22、rimental to usage of the acid and, if a powder form, shall be freeflowing, free from lumping caused by moisture absorption, and free fromforeign material detrimental to its usage.-3-AMS 1384A SAE AMS 1384A4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection:(R)The vendor of the product
23、shall supply all samples for vendors tests andshall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reservesthe right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessaryto ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of thisspecification.4.2 Classification of Tests
24、:Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall beperformed prior to or on the initial shipment of acid to a purchaser, when achange in ingredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, andwhen purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.4.2.1 For direct
25、U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, whenrequested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizantagency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, orrequest for procurement.4.3 Sampling and Testing:Shall be in accordance with ASTM D1568. A lot s
26、hall be all acid produced ina single production run from the same batches of raw materials under thesame fixed conditions and presented for vendors inspection at one time. Aninspection lot shall not exceed 6,000 gallons (22,712 L) if a liquid or10,000 pounds (4536 kg) if a powder. Acid may be packag
27、ed in smallerquantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provided lotidentification is maintained.4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Acid shall be approved by purchaser before acid for production use issupplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of testson production acid shall be essen
28、tially equivalent to those on theapproved sample acid.4.4.1.1 A new or revised product may be conditionally approved pendingcompletion of the storage stability test of 3.2.4. Full approval willbe granted following testing for the other technical requirements aftercompletion of storage stability test
29、ing.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, and methods ofinspection on production acid which are essentially the same as those usedon the approved sample acid. If necessary to make any change iningredients or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit forreapproval a sta
30、tement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/orprocessing and, when requested, sample acid. Production acid made by therevised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.-4-I AMS 1384A SAE AMS 1384A I4.5 Reports:4.5.1 The vendor of acid shall furnish with the initial shipment
31、 a report(R) showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the technicalrequirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lotnumber, AMS 1384A, manufacturers identification, and quantity.4.5.2 A material safety data sheet conforming to AMS 2825, or equivalent, shallbe sup
32、plied to each purchaser prior to or concurrent with the report ofpreproduction test results or, if preproduction testing be waived bypurchaser, concurrent with the first shipment of acid for production use.Each request for modification of acid formulation shall be accompanied bya revised data sheet
33、for the proposed formulation.4.5.3 The vendor of acid shall furnish with each subsequent shipment a reportstating that the acid is of the same composition and has the sameproperties as the approved sample acid. If results of the storagestability test were not Included in the report on the Initial sh
34、ipment ofacid, results of that test shall be included in the report on the firstshipment following completion of that test. This report shall include thepurchase order number, lot number, AMS 1384A, manufacturersidentification, and quantity. If acid from more than one lot is suppliedin one shipment,
35、 a report shall be supplied for each lot of acid in theshipment.4.5.4 A bulletin describing the acid and detailed instructions for its use shallbe provided by the acid manufacturer. The bulletin shall also include notless than mixing instructions, material compatibility, properties,control/analysis
36、procedures, and safety practices including precautionsfor hazardous ingredients.4.6 Resampling and Retesting:CR)If any sample used in the above tests fails to meet the specifiedrequirements, disposition of the acid may be based on the results of testingthree additional samples for each original nonc
37、onforming sample. Failure ofany retest sample to meet the specified requirements shall be cause forrejection of the acid represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY:5.1 Packaging and Identification:5.1.1 Acid shall be packaged in containers of a type and size agre
38、ed upon bypurchaser and vendor.5.1.2 Each container of acid shall be legibly marked with not less thanAMS 1384A, purchase order number, lot number, manufacturersidentification, and quantity.-5-I AMS 1384A SAE AMS 1384A I5.1.3 Containers of acid shall be prepared for shipment in accordance withCR com
39、mercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules andregulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation ofthe acid to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.5.1.4 For direct U.S. Military procurement, packaging shall be in accordanceCR with MIL-STD-2073-1, Commercial L
40、evel, unless Level A is specified in therequest for procurement.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT:A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter inall quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONS:Acid not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized b
41、ypurchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
