SCOPE:1.1Form: This specification covers an acidic oxide remover compound in theform of a ready-to-use liquid, liquid concentrate, or water
2、-soluble powderfor dilution with water or for dilution with mineralacid as defined by thecompound manufacturer.1.2 Application: Primarily for removal of oxidation products fromcorrosion-resistant steels, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by immersion ina solution of the compound at elevated temperatu
3、re or room temperature asrecommended by the manufacturer of the product.1.3 Classification:as follows:Compounds conforming to this specification are classifiedType I-Ready-to-use liquidType II - Liquid concentrateType III - Water-soluble powder1.3.1 Type I shall be supplied unless Type II or Type II

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Composition: Shall be optional with the manufacturer but, when prepared inaccordance with manufacturers instructions, shall form a liquid prod
15、uct,with no solid sediment at room temperature, meeting the requirements of3.2.Solution make up and control shall be in accordance with manufacturersinstructions and purchasers requirements.3.2 Properties: Compound shall conform to the following requirements; testsshall be performed in accordance wi
16、th specified test methods on the productsupplied at the maximum concentration and temperature recommended by themanufacturer.-2-AMS 1382A SAE AMS 1382A3.2.1 Stock Loss: Test panels of alloys or electrodeposits shall not incurstock loss exceeding 0.000025 inch (0.635 m) per surface and plasmadeposite
17、d coatings shall not incur stock loss exceeding 0.0001 inch(2.5 m), when tested in accordance with ARP1755, Category 4. Whererequired in ARP1755, stock loss figures shall be reported. Vendor mayindicate where remover is not recommended for particular alloys or surfacecoatings.3.2.2 Corrosion: Test p
18、anels and bars used for the stock loss test of 3.2.10 shall exhibit no surface attack, when examined at 50X magnification undergood oblique surface lighting conditions.3.2.3 Biodegradability: Vendor shall supply evidence that surfactants used inthe compound shall be at least 90% biodegradable, deter
19、mined either inaccordance with ASTM D 2667 where relevant to surfactant type or byalternative methods appropriate to surfactant type acceptable to purchaser.3.2.3.1 Evidence of surfactant biodegradability does not guarantee that thecompound may be discharged in either concentrated or diluted form in
20、topublic waterways or sewerage systems; manufacturers shall give advice onthe means for disposal.3.2.4 (77F9)for one yearshall show no visual evidence of deterioration and shall meet all othertechnical requirements of this specification.3.2.5 Performance: The compound, prepared and used in accordanc
21、e withmanufacturers instructions, shall remove oxidation products from parts.Compounds, which meet all other technical requirements of thisspecification, shall be tested for cleaning performance in an approvedengine overhaul facility for not less than six months, during which timeat least ten turbof
22、an or turbojet engines shall be processed withsatisfactory results before approval for service use is granted by theapplicable engine manufacturer.3.3 Quality:The compound, as received by purchaser, if a liquid, shall beclear, homogeneous, and free from solid particles and separation and fromforeign
23、 materials detrimental to usage of the compound and, if a powderform, shall be free flowing, free from lumping caused by moistureabsorption, and free from foreign material detrimental to its usage.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection:The vendor of the compound shall supp
24、ly all0samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing allrequired tests.Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform anyconfirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the compound conformsto the requirements of this specification.-3-Storage Stability: Compound store
25、d at 25C 5AMS 1382A SAE AMS 1382A4.2 Classification of Tests: Tests for all technical requirements arepreproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initialshipment of compound to a purchaser,when a change in ingredients and/orprocessing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purch
26、aser deemsconfirmatory testing to be required.4.2.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, whenrequested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizantagency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, orrequest for procurement.4.3 Sampl
27、ing and Testing: Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 1568 or other0 method specified by purchaser. A lot shall be all compound produced in asingle production run from the same batches of raw materials under the samefixed conditions and presented for vendors inspection at one time. Aninspection lot sh
28、all not exceed 6,000 gallons (22,712 L) if a liquid or10,000 pounds (4536kg) if a powder.4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Compound shall be approved by purchaser before compound for production useis supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results oftests on production compound shall be essentially
29、equivalent to those onthe approved sample compound.4.4.1.1 A new or revised compound may be conditionally approved pendingcompletion of the storage stability test of 3.2.4. Full approval willbe granted following testing for the other technical requirements aftercompletion of storage stability testin
30、g.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, and methods ofinspection on production compound which are essentially the same as thoseused on the approved sample compound. If necessary to make any change iningredients or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit forreapproval
31、 a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/orprocessing and, when requested, sample compound. Production compound madeby the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt ofreapproval.4.5 Reports:4.5.1 The vendor of compound shall furnish with the initial shipment a reportshow
32、ing the results of tests to determine conformance to the technicalrequirements except that, for a new or revised compound, the results ofthe storage stability test may be omitted. This report shall include thepurchase order number, lot number, AMS 1382A, manufacturersidentification, and quantity.-4-
33、AMS 1382A SAE AMS 1382A4.5.2 A material safety data sheet conforming to AMS 2825, or equivalent, shallbe supplied to each purchaser prior to or concurrent with the report ofpreproduction test results or, if preproduction testing be waived bypurchaser, concurrent with the first shipment of compound f
34、or productionuse. Each request for modification of compound formulation shall beaccompanied by a revised data sheet for the proposed formulation.4.5.3 The vendor of compound shall furnish with each subsequent shipment areport stating that the compound is of the same composition and has thesame prope
35、rties as the approved sample compound. If results of thestorage stability test were not included in the report on the initialshipment of compound, results of that test shall be included in the reporton the first shipment following completion of that test. This reportshall include the purchase order
36、number, lot number, AMS 1382A,manufacturers identification, and quantity. If compound from more thanone lot is supplied in one shipment, a report shall be supplied for eachlot of compound in the shipment.4.5.4 A bulletin describing the compound and detailed instructions for its useshall be provided
37、by the compound manufacturer. The bulletin shall alsoinclude at least mixing instructions, material compatibility, properties,control/analysis procedures, and safety practices including precautionsfor hazardous ingredients.4.6 Resamplinq and Retesting: If any sample used in the above tests fails to0
38、 meet the specified requirements, disposition of the compound may be based onthe results of testing three additional samples for each originalnonconforming sample. Failure of any retest sample to meet the specifiedrequirements shall be cause for rejection of the compound represented.Results of all t
39、ests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY:5.1 Packaging and Identification:5.1.1 Compound shall be packaged in containers of a type and size agreed upon bypurchaser and vendor. A lot of compound may be packaged in smallquantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provided lotidenti
40、fication is maintained.5.1.2 Each container of compound shall be legibly marked with not less thanAMS 1382A, purchase order number, lot number, manufacturersidentification, and quantity.5.1.3 Containers of compound shall be prepared for shipment in accordance withcommercial practice and in complianc
41、e with applicable rules andregulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation ofthe compound to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.5.1.4 For direct U.S. Military procurement, packaging shall be in accordancewith MIL-STD-2073-1, Commercial Level, unless Level A is specifie

REJECTIONS: Compound not conforming to this specification, or tomodifications authorized
