This resulted in significant rework an

Due to the defective plating, there is a potential for airborne conductive contaminants thus generating a hazardous condition on the ISS.Description of Driving Event: The vendor selected to produce the aluminum parts in question was audited as part of the “Supplier Audit Pre-Selec
4、tion Process“, and was found to have an adequate Quality Management System. Their selection of sub-contractor to perform post-processing plating operations was not part of the pre-selection process, therefore no knowledge of this specific sub-contractors capability was realized.Lesson(s) Learned: It
5、 is imperative that all vendors selected to provide space-flight hardware be fully audited to the lowest tier of their sub-contractor supply base to determine their full compliance to all stated standards and requirements.Recommendation(s): Careful consideration must be taken to verify product quali
