2、teries from containers for installation in the ET. Installation was to support OMI S0008. Immediate cleanup procedures were initiated and area cordoned off. Personnel contamination was neutralized and employees reported to medical facility for evaluation. Batteries were relocated to the battery lab.
3、 Batteries are of a new design still under qualification testing. Four batteries had been activated, two were installed on the SRBs, the two ET batteries were maintained at ambient temperatures until the time of the incident.Lesson(s) Learned: Use of batteries that have not completed qualification t
